Somerville

One day, while I was still working at Blue Zoo, I received a message from Jumpship asking if I’d be interested in talking to them about their debut game Somerville. I’ll admit—I didn’t know anything about the studio or the project at the time. But the moment I looked it up, I was stunned. The theme and visual style were exactly what I was passionate about at that moment, and the opportunity to work alongside Georgi Simeonov, whose work I had long admired, made the decision to jump on board an easy one.

I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity. It opened new doors and gave me the chance to learn a lot about indie game development—something I hadn’t explored before.

Even though the game wasn’t a major success, I’m happy it found its community. Many appreciated the visual style, as did I. Thanks to the guidance of our amazing lead Myles Lambert, and the support of Georgi, I came away with an experience that also helped me better understand and define my own personal creative voice.
