A sentimental cigarette break on the terrace of a condo in the heart of a megalopolis.
This artwork was deeply influenced by my love for the labyrinths of cityscapes and inspired by the anime and games I grew up with—Ghost in the Shell, The Animatrix, Akira, and Mirror’s Edge. It captures a moment and a feeling I’d been trying to express ever since experiencing those classics—something I truly felt for the first time while visiting Japan, the source of inspiration behind so many of them.
The piece also draws from the vibrant color palette of Florida’s urban architecture. The main porch was directly inspired by the interior of Jussieu University in Paris.
