I have always admired frame-by-frame hand-drawn animation for its artistry and subtleties, which are simply not possible to replicate in 3D. Animated films, especially short ones, have this beautiful aura around them—the power to tell a compelling story while being strongly driven by their visuals.
It was when I got myself an iPad and Pencil that I started to explore it for myself. The comfort of bringing an idea to life on such a small, lightweight device, without the need to switch between numerous apps or be surrounded by multiple screens, graphic tablets, and other gadgets, is such a refreshing experience—one I’d like to keep exploring and spend more time with in the future.
