I’ve never visited these places, yet somehow, I knew them all. Each corner I explored and drove through felt familiar, evoking a deep nostalgia. The architecture, the signs, the hostel’s furniture design, the color palettes, the palms, the hue of the sky with the sun setting opposite the ocean, feeling the warm wind on my sunburned skin, the night swims in the ocean, and the magical color of the water beneath stormy clouds. Yes, that magical color, somehow transforming everything around it into a dreamlike hue.
And then I discovered the incredible paintings by Hiroshi Nagai, and suddenly, all those feelings made sense. Thank you, Hiroshi! Let this be my homage to you.
